Come out to the 2011 edition of the Joe Creason Lecture in Journalism, to be held on Tuesday, April 12 at 6 p.m. in the Worsham Theatre of the UK Student Center.
According to an email delivered over the UK journalism server, this year’s lecture will feature Leonard Pitts Jr., “a nationally-syndicated columnist based out of the Miami Herald.”
Pitts’ lecture topic is “Owning What You Know,” meant to stress the importance of fact-based reporting.
Pitts won the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for Commentary and is the author of a collection of his columns titled “Forward From This Moment,” “Becoming Dad: Black Men and the Journey to Fatherhood” and a novel about a Alzheimer’s Disease-stricken R&B singer titled “Before I Forget.”
