The University of Kentucky Education Abroad Program is making some drastic changes to their program. The department has recently cut nearly 6,000 study abroad programs down to 400. Director of Education Abroad, Anthony Ogden, says this is a good thing for the students, though. According to Ogden, the cuts were made to put less stress on applicants of study abroad and to make the programs more career oriented.
Ogden says the education abroad program now focuses more on the students’ major and not just where they want to go. He believes these changes will provide students with a set of skills that will benefit them in their career and in the long run.
