DanceBlue, UK’s annual 24-hour dance marathon, kicks off Friday at 8 p.m.
DanceBlue is a student-run fundraising event, and proceeds go to the Golden Matrix Fund at the UK Pediatric Oncology Clinic and Markey Cancer Center.
The first marathon took place in February 2006. $123,323.16 was raised in DanceBlue’s first year, according to its website. In 2011, dancers raised $673.976.60.
The event takes place in Memorial Coliseum and lasts until 8 p.m. Saturday.
