Take Back the Night, a march and rally, will take place Wednesday, March 27 at 7 p.m. The march will begin with groups gathering separately at the Patterson Office on UK’s campus, at Thoroughbred Park and at Third Street Stuff, a local business, located at 257 N. Limestone Street . All groups will converge at the Courthouse Plaza in downtown Lexington for the rally which starts at 7:30 p.m. and will feature speakers, music, tabling and a candlelight vigil to remember victims. This is the 30th year for the now worldwide event which began as a way for female victims of sexual assault to protest against the violence. According to UKnow, it now also links this awareness to all victims of violence who may be “oppressed by racism, sexism, classism and homophobia”. There will be an After Party at Third Street Stuff following the rally.
