The UK women’s basketball team advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row following an 84-70 victory over the Dayton Flyers Tuesday night.
Two-time SEC Player of the Year A’dia Mathies notched a career-high 34 points in the victory including 6-7 shooting from three-point range.
The win was the Cats’ 29th of the year, a new program record. The team will now move on to the regional semifinals in Bridgeport, CT. where it will face the Delaware Blue Hens on Saturday.
