A UK press release announced that the undergraduate student speakers for the 146th commencement ceremonies, being held on May 5 in Rupp Arena, will be Mercedes Rosado and Luke Glaser.
The release also gave short bios of the two speakers.
Rosado will graduate with a kinesiology degree, and after graduation will commence pilot training at Columbus Air Force base in Mississippi.
Some of her favorite memories as a student at Kentucky include participating in DanceBlue and assisting with the coin toss at a UK football game.
Rosado said that she’s honored to represent her class. She will speak at the 1 p.m. ceremony.
Glaser will graduate with degrees in English and Hispanic Studies. He is a College of Arts and Science ambassador, a student government senator, a member of the Honors Program and a Gaines Fellow.
Glaser was also in charge of an assistant editor as well as 20 staff writers while he was features editor for The Kentucky Kernel March 2011 to May 2012.
“A large portion of my speech is devoted to the accomplishments of my classmates and the magnitude of our collective impact on campus. I only hope I can do it the justice it deserves,” Glaser said in the press release.
He will speak at the 6 p.m. ceremony.
