According to the Commonwealth of Kentucky website, Gov. Steve Beshear is making a 7-day trip to India this Friday to discuss trade and economic deals between India and Kentucky. Beshear will be the first active Kentucky governor to visit India.
The two locations are a match made in industrial heaven. India’s gross domestic product grew by 112 percent between 2003 and 2008. Kentucky’s exports to India grew more than 252 percent to $96.5 million over the same period.
India’s business opportunities in Lexington are plentiful due to the growing local economy. Kentucky has over 400 international companies inside of it’s state lines.
