Fans can request SEC Network

ESPN and the Southeastern Conference have joined forces to create a network that will allow fans to have unlimited access to games happening throughout the conference.
The network will be launching in August of 2014 and SEC schools are asking their fan bases to demand the network from their cable provider.
The new network was announced by SEC commissioner Mike Slive and ESPN president John Skipper in May of this year. The 20-year agreement between the conference and ESPN will be the third conference to have a network dedicated to a single conference. The Big Ten and Pac-12 both have agreements with ESPN.
Fans will have access to approximately 45 football games, more than 100 men’s basketball games, 60 women’s basketball games and events from across all 21 SEC-sponsored sports.
At&t U-Verse was the first cable provider to agree to carry the SEC Network, but Time Warner, Direct TV and Dish Network have yet to jump on board.
Fans wanting the network can go to www.getsecnetwork.com to request their cable provider carry the new network.
