UK senior Samantha Drake will miss the remainder of the women’s basketball season, the university announced Monday.
Drake suffered a left knee injury in the Cats’ win over Central Michigan University Sunday.
Head coach Matthew Mitchell first announced the news of Drake’s torn anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus on the radio Monday, and the team tweeted to confirm the news later that night.
Timetable after surgery is about seven to eight months.
The 6-foot-3-inch forward had seen action in all five games this season, averaging five minutes per game. She has appeared in 88 career games in a UK uniform.
