The University of Kentucky volleyball team was awarded the No. 15 national seed Sunday in this year’s NCAA Tournament.
In the program’s ninth-consecutive tournament appearance, the Cats will host first and second round games Friday and Saturday night at Memorial Coliseum.
“It’s a great feeling,” head coach Craig Skinner said in a UK Athletics release. “Our kids played really hard this year, we had a great schedule. We had a lot of good wins throughout the year. To be in a position to be on your home court, to host the first and second round, is a great feeling. Our kids are excited and we feel like we’ve earned it.”
UK will kick off tournament play at Memorial Coliseum Friday when they take on Duquesne at 7:30 p.m., directly following the 5 p.m. match between Michigan State and Ohio. Duquesne finished the season with a 20-9 record.
In the event that the Cats make continue to win, they will have the opportunity to remain at home, as Memorial Coliseum has already been established as an NCAA Regional site on Dec. 13-14.
All-session tickets for this weekend are on sale now and range from $4-7, depending on age and seat quality. You can purchase tickets at the UK Ticket Office or by visiting www.ukathletics.com/ticketing or by calling (800) 928-2287 or (859) 257-1818.
