Lexington Diners Ready for Mardi Gras

 

 
 
Lasting freezing temperatures won’t delay Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, festivities in Lexington.
Gumbo, jambalaya and king cake will be served, but the crawfish, Furlong’s owner says, will be smaller than normal. The size of the parties, however, is expected to be just as big as in the past.
The annual Fat Tuesday party at Bourbon n’ Toulouse, which usually spills over to Chevy Chase Inn and nearby bars, kicks off at 11 A.M. Diners 21 and older can then take their alligator etouffée and andouille sausage over to The Beer Trappe. Bourbon n’ Toulouse will serve up bulk orders during the weekend for those who can’t make it Tuesday, according to owner Kevin Heathcoat. The crawfish boil starts at 6:30 P.M.
Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles will also celebrate Mardi Gras with a tour of the distillery starting at 6:30 P.M. A Cajun buffet of jambalaya, baby back ribs, crawfish, king cake and chocolate bread pudding will be served at 7:30 P.M.
Others that will be celebrating are A la Lucie, Ramsey’s Diners , Gumbo Ya Ya, Willie’s Locally Known, Nick Ryan’s Saloon and The Blue Heron Steakhouse.
