Yes, we know. This may be the most painful shot in UK basketball history. With one three-point attempt and one bounce off the rim, never has one shot so perfectly summed up an entire season. Why it makes the list? Because it also ended a season that every UK fan needs to forget.

#9: January 11^th, 2012, Darius Miller, Auburn
This may be one of the least significant shots on the list, but it also may be one of the more impressive too. Not only did Miller beat the buzzer in a game the Cats needed a halftime boost, but he did it double-teamed and from deep. Darius Miller was awesome.

#8: March 14^th, 2014, Julius Randle, LSU
If not for the heroics of Aaron Harrison later in this season, this could have been the biggest shot of the 2013-14 season. Sure, there was a little bit of luck involved. Sure, that rebound literally bounced right into Randle’s arms. It still was the most exciting shot in Rupp that season.

It’s true, this shot did come against Miami (OH).  And yes, this shot didn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things. Still, as far as the shot goes itself, it may be one of the prettiest to watch. Just look at that fade-away jumper. Just look at it!

We wanted to find a shot or two from the best year of the Calipari-era that ended in a championship-win. Unfortunately, most of the season was spent blowing out teams and coasting to victories. So instead we went a different direction. Instead of choosing a shot from a Kentucky player, we chose the lack of a shot from an opposing team. I think we all can agree this block from The Brow was a great kickstart to one great season.

Not only did this shot push the Cats on to the next round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament, but Brandon Knight was 0-7 from the field before this shot (2:15 in the video).

John Calipari’s first year at UK and fans were hungry for an SEC Championship. Cats were down 3 with 5 seconds remaining and incredibly managed to force overtime and eventually go on to win the game.

After Michigan tied up the game at 72 with 31 seconds left in the Elite Eight game. The Cats went to Aaron Harrison in crunch time with a Final Four birth on the line.

The game was tied at 71 and Andrew Harrison had just fouled Wisconsin’s Traevon Jackson to put him at the free throw line for 3 shots. However, Jackson missed one of the shots, Wisconsin’s only missed free throw of the game. This set up Aaron Harrison to hit the big time shot for the third game in a row and push the Cats into the 2014 National Championship game
