Last Saturday, a 5K held at Coldstream Park would be a start to a legacy for the children in Haiti. The first annual “Haiti Hustle” 5k will benefit teachers from Kentucky on their mission to help increase the quality of education in Haiti.
The race is a part of the non-profit organization, Project Teach Haiti, which is a professional teacher-training seminar that provides Haitian teachers with training to enhance their curriculum and faster their growth as effective and successful educators.
Bobbi Hoffner, director of Project Teach Haiti, she says that while this is the 1st annual run held in Lexington, it will be the 18th annual trip for the teacher-training program in Hati.
If you would like to find out how you can get involved, there is more information on their website, Project Teach Haiti or you can visit their Facebook page ProjectTeachHaiti.
