Basketball in Kentucky is essentially a religion for the natives. The homebodies and hardwood go hand-in-hand quite similarly to burgers and fries or milk and cereal. More specifically, the Kentucky Wildcats’ basketball program reigns supreme in the bluegrass, and when their season reaches its end, it feels, to many, like losing a loved one, at least until next season begins. But the final UK game of the season doesn’t signify the final basketball game of the season in Lexington. In fact, it’s quite the opposite, thanks to the Kentucky Basketball Association, or simply KBA.
While KBA action is already underway, it’s never too late to join the fun with the 2016 KBA Clash On The Court tournament set to get underway April 1-3. This weekend-long tournament features boys and girls between 2nd and 11th grade, and will include two initial pool play games, then followed by the actual tournament.
To register, all you need is a team head coach, at least five players and the $175.00 registration fee, which can be paid online or in person at the KBA location at 273 Ruccio Way, Lexington, KY, 40503. In doing so, you simply need to register under the team name in the “notes/comments” section.
Additionally, upon registration, one will need to supply information like their full name, current address, phone number and a parents contact info, considering the participants are minors.
