LEXINGTON – With three more hours of voting to go in Kentucky’s Eastern time zone districts, people may be wondering where they might gather with candidates and parties to watch the returns.
Here is a selected group of gatherings planned by candidates and parties. We’ll add more as we learn more.
Fayette County Democrats and 6th District Democratic incumbent Congressman Ben Chandler will gather at The Barrelhouse, a new party and event space on Manchester Street. Vice-mayor Jim Gray, who is on the ballot for mayor of Lexington, will be nearby at Buster’s with supporters. Both these venues are in the Distillery District, which Gray championed on council. Bluecoastlive will have correspondents on site at these venues.
Mayor Jim Newberry, who is seeking re-election, will be at Lexington Center in the Elkhorn Room.
Bluecoast will also have correspondents at the Fayette County Clerk’s election central in Lexington as votes come in and are recorded.
U.S. Senate Candidate Rand Paul will be at a gathering in Bowling Green, where polls close at 6 p.m. Central. Bluecoastlive will have correspondents on site with Paul and his supporters.
Republican candidate for 6th District U.S. Congress Andy Barr will be gathering with his supporters at the Crowne Plaza Campbell House Hotel at South Broadway and Mason-Headley Road.
Democratic U.S. Senate hopeful Jack Conway and incumbent Congressman John Yarmuth, both of Louisville, will be at a gathering at a Louisville hotel.
Look for more coverage of the local election from the UK campus throughout the evening.
