Lunafest, a film festival by, for and about women, will make a stop in Lexington tonight at the historic downtown Kentucky Theater. The ten short films boast a wide variety of topics, all as seen through the eyes of women. The goal of the Lunafest film festival is to foster dialogue and inspire audience members to take action in their community. Tonight’s festival is hosted by the Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program, their third year of hosting the event. Lunafest is sponsored by makers of LUNA, the nutrition bars for women. One hundred percent of LUNA’s proceeds are donated to charity. Fifteen percent go to the Breast Cancer Fund, and the other eighty-five percent stay with the hosting organization. Tonight’s film festival begins at 7pm at the Kentucky Theater. Tickets are available for pre-sale at Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program’s website, or at the door. Student tickets are $10, $15 for non-students.
