According to an April 8 UKNow article, Elizabeth Warren will give the 2011 Chellgren lecture on Monday, April 18, to UK’s campus.
This year’s lecture, titled “Debt, Credit, and the Middle Class,” will take place at Memorial Hall at 7 p.m. Presented by UK’s Gatton School of Business, the lecture will highlight Warren’s research on the economics of middle class families.
Warren is on academic leave from her position as Leo Gottlieb Professor of Law at Harvard University. Currently, she is serving as an assistant to President Barack Obama and special adviser to the secretary of the treasury on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Warren’s accomplishments include publishing 100 scholarly articles and nine books, twice being named one of the Time 100 Most Influential People in the World and earning recognition as one of the Most Influential Lawyers of the Decade by the National Law Journal.
The lecture will be free and open to the public.
