April 30 the Arboretum will roll out the green carpet for their Arbor Day celebrations. “Re-leaf: Renewing Our Community Forest” will conclude the garden’s month-long Party for the Planet. The 20th annual Arbor Day at the Arboretum will bring together experts on entomology, gardening, recycling and lawn and tree care.
Arbor Day is a popular event, attracting more than 1,500 people each year. There will be more than 40 vendors all presenting options for the greening of Lexington. There will be guided tree walks and children can enjoy activities like learning about Kentucky animals and making recycled crafts.
Arbor Day at the Arboretum is free. The festivities will run, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
