UK Alert sent out a tornado warning message to alert recipients at approximately 2:04 a.m. this morning for the Lexington area. The message advised patrons to take shelter immediately.
The warning was in effect until about 2:37 a.m. Another message was released at that time, informing them that “the emergency situation related to tornado warning is over.”
According to the National Weather Service, the forecast for the rest of the day is cloudy with highs in the upper 50s. There is a 70 percent chance of precipitation. Tonight, temperatures will drop to the lower 40s with light wind.
