The Board of Trustees went into closed session before 7 a.m. Sunday morning to resume consideration of candidates and conduct deliberation on and a vote for a preferred candidate in its search for the 12th president of the University of Kentucky.
The board, according to a tweet from UK spokesman Jay Blanton, hopes to announce the preferred candidate by 1 p.m.
The person selected will then visit the University of Kentucky campus on Monday for a series of meetings with students, faculty and the university community, and the board plans a confirmation vote following.
The potential candidates’ names still remain a secret, under a confidentiality agreement that was signed by all parties.
The selected person will replace Lee Todd, who is retiring from the position.
