The battle between Senioritis and your last classes may be quite fierce, but don’t forget to put the finishing touches on your undergraduate or graduate career.
Many December grads received an email titled 2011 Commencement. The email outlined the proper procedures to secure a place in the ceremony and information on where to order appropriate regalia. For those who didn’t receive the email or May graduates who want to know what to do in the Spring, here is a quick checklist.
First, register to participate in the ceremony on UK’s official commencement page.
For undergrads, you will simply select your program from a list colleges and majors. Graduate school grads must select their program and also give the title of their dissertation. All students must register by December 1.
Next, order your cap and gown through the UK Bookstore located in the Student Center during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
For those who want to customize their regalia, order personalized graduation announcements or a class ring can do so through Jostens Online.
Finally, be sure to tell everyone you are graduating from college! If personalized invitations aren’t your thing, shoot family and friends an email saying where and when the ceremony is.
December 2011 Commencement Ceremonies will be held on December 16, 2011 in Memorial Coliseum, 201 Avenue of Champions.
The Graduate Ceremony will be at 1:30p.m.
The Undergraduate Ceremony will be at 6:00p.m.
Check-in for Commencement will begin at 12:30p.m. for graduate students and 5:00p.m. for undergraduate students in the Joe Craft Center.
