Provost Kumble Subbaswamy opened the forum by thanking the candidates.
Professor Buck Ryan sang a song he wrote from student’s journal entries on the election during the forum.
Professor Buck Ryan asked attendees to fill out a tear sheet in today’s issue of the Kentucky Kernel that will contribute to the research being done by Ryan’s Discovery Seminar Program. Ryan said he would provide the information they gather to each candidate that attended today’s forum.
Rand Paul was the first candidate to speak. According to his Web site, “Rand Paul is a career doctor, not a politician.”
Darlene Fitzgerald Price said she will not take any money from the “Big” companies.
Bill Johnson is a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment.
It was standing room only in the M. I. King Building’s Great Room.
Many students were seen furiously scribbling notes while the candidates spoke.
Dean Dan O’Hair of the College of Communications and Information Studies and Provost Kumble Subbaswamy laughed while Professor Ryan sang during the forum.
