For some University of Kentucky students and employees, traveling during the holidays isn’t exactly easy as getting in your car and leaving campus.
That’s why Parking and Transportation Services are offering the Ride Home Express. The Ride Home Express is an alternative travel option for UK students and employees headed to select cities over the holiday break.
Riders will be driven in style with a deluxe coach bus, which will accommodate for the luggage needed for them. They can bring one piece of luggage, another small piece of luggage, and a carry-on.
PTS Marketing/Promotions Specialist Sr Chrissie Balding Tune says that even though numbers are down this winter break in terms of students taking the express, PTS has been getting great feedback from parents and students with all of the routes that are offered. With the successful feedback, the express added two new stops on top of select city designations. The stops that will be made by the express over break are:
- Louisville, KY
- Indianapolis, IN
- Lafayette, IN
- Merrillville, IN
- Naperville, IL
PTS recommends registering for the trip(s) as soon as possible. Space is limited, and seats will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis, with ticket prices varying on location.
Tickets for a trip can be purchased in the PTS office located on 721 Press Avenue or on their website.
The Ride Home Express departs campus on Dec. 16, 2011, and returns on Jan. 8, 2012.
