The creator of the “It Gets Better” Campaign will be speaking today at UK. The program was founded in 2010 to the many suicides by young people who were bullied because of there sexual orientation. Savage’s message revolves around letting the LGBT community know that despite the hardship of of ignorance they may have to suffer, it WILL get better. He preaches hope, help and positive future.
The event begins at 7:00 pm in Memorial Hall.
There will be a Q&A session following the lecture and a book signing of “It Gets Better: Coming Out, Overcoming Bullying, and Creating a Life Worth Living.”
