If your looking for some comedic gold to begin your finals week, the Kentucky Kernel has you covered.
The Kernel will be releasing its annual “golden fork” awards in Monday’s edition of the Kernel. The awards are aimed to poke fun at big campus news stories with hint of sarcasm.
“Its our last day of duty, the whole year we’ve been judicious [in reporting], so this is our chance to poke fun at some of the major news stories we’ve had over the course of the year,” said Shannon Frazier, opinions editor.
Typically, the way we come up with these stories is we brainstorm about all the major news events that affected the university and we put our own humorous spin on it, Frazier said.
For those interested in having an idea of what to expect come Monday, the last three “golden fork” awards are on the Kernel’s website.
“Monday’s paper on the opinions page. If anybody wants to check out last years awards they can check out the kernel’s website,” Frazier said.
Go to kykernel.com and type in “golden fork” in the search box to access previous awards.
